5-23 What is the allowable value of carbon deposit thickness for screw air compressors?

Oil-lubed compressor pipes inspected for carbon deposits. Max thickness: ≤3mm ≤1MPa. Regular checks ensure safe operation.
Case Details

Answer: For oil-lubricated compressors, all pipes, containers and accessories between the exhaust port and the compressed air temperature should be checked regularly. Any carbon deposits should be effectively removed. The number of inspections and removals should be such that the thickness of carbon deposits does not exceed the requirements of Sheet 5-1.
